Country music artist and New Mexico native Chevel Shepherd will take the Kiva Auditorium stage at the Albuquerque Convention Center at 7:30 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 30. Sponsored by The Salvation Army, the concert will support the organization’s rehabilitation program. Tickets are available for purchase through Ticketmaster.
With the timeless sound of the pedal steel and a gift for genuine storytelling, Shepherd delivers modern country music rooted deeply in tradition. The charismatic 24-year-old first charmed millions as the standout winner of Season 15 of NBC’s The Voice, guided by singer and songwriter Kelly Clarkson.
Following Shepherd’s victory on The Voice, she achieved a long list of milestone firsts. She opened shows for major country acts including Clarkson, Little Big Town, Brothers Osborne, and Lee Brice, and performed the national anthem before the Indianapolis 500.
Shepherd’s catalog includes popular releases such as the moving single “Everybody’s Got a Story”—written by Kacey Musgraves, Shane MacAnally, and Brandy Clark—as well as the upbeat anthem “Southern Boy,” and “Mama Got the Chair,” a clever call-and-response to country legend George Strait’s iconic hit “The Chair.”
