Albuquerque Food Drive to Help 10,000 New Mexicans Battling Food Insecurity this Thanksgiving

Albuquerque, NM – For some kids, it’s a given that Thanksgiving will be bountiful. For others, Thanksgiving must be given, or the table—and their bellies—will be empty. That’s why Calvary Church is. working to provide dinner for thousands of food-insecure Albuquerque children and their families this Thanksgiving.

“We’re so excited to show our city how much Jesus Christ loves them,” said Pastor Nate Heitzig. “It’s more than a meal or a haircut; it’s a day to be loved and cared for—and ultimately to encounter life change.”

Calvary Church raised over $300,000 to serve more than 10,000 people at their annual event, providing Thanksgiving meal packages, haircuts, family photos, medical and dental screenings, and other essential goods and services for local families in need, who were prequalified and registered for services through Title 1 schools. The outreach event, dubbed the Thanksgiving Pickup Party, takes place Saturday, November 22, at the church’s Osuna campus.

In December, invited families will return to experience Calvary Church’s annual Toy Shop, where parents and caregivers can shop for brand-new, unwrapped toys for children in their households who need gifts.

Calvary’s Pickup Party guests and the general public are invited to experience the hope and joy of Jesus Christ this Christmas at any of four services at their Osuna campus, or at any of their other locations.
