ASM Global Appoints Scott Blackledge as Director of Security and Parking for Albuquerque Convention Center and Associated Venues

(Albuquerque, N.M. – February 18, 2025) — ASM Global, the world’s leading producer of entertainment experiences, venue management and event strategy, has hired a new director of security and parking for the Albuquerque Convention Center, New Mexico’s largest publicly owned meeting and exhibit space.

Scott Blackledge, previous chief of metro security with the City of Albuquerque, brings over forty years of experience in law enforcement, security operations, training and management to the position. He will take on the responsibility of management and performance of security, guest services and parking departments for the Albuquerque Convention Center, Kiva Auditorium, Convention Center Parking Garage, Civic Plaza, ABQ Rail Yards and Jennifer Riordan Spark Kindness Sports Complex.

“The safety and wellbeing of all visitors attending events at the Albuquerque Convention Center is my main priority going into this job,” Scott Blackledge said. “I am committed to implementing facility policies and procedures that uphold the highest possible security and life safety. As someone who has worked extensively in law enforcement, the experience I bring to this job will allow me to effectively safeguard guests, staff and the overall venue.”

Prior to Blackledge’s role at the Albuquerque Convention Center, he started his career as a Law Enforcement Specialist in the US Air Force Security Police. After college, he moved to New Mexico and joined the Bernalillo County Sheriff’s Department, working various assignments including Patrol, Criminal Investigations and Narcotics. He was also a Hostage Negotiator for the Sheriff’s Dept. SWAT Team.

In his latest position as Security Chief for the City of Albuquerque’s Metro Security Division, Blackledge oversaw the creation and staffing of a 24/7 Dispatch and Communications Center and implementation of the division’s own computer-aided dispatch and records management system. He also championed for City-wide standardization of access control and Closed-Circuit TV systems, ensuring full compatibility with the Albuquerque Police Department’s Real-Time Crime Center.
