Clovis Police Department Release Updated Information – Shooting at or from a Motor Vehicle (August 15, 2025), Marby Drive and Norris Streets, Clovis, New Mexico

Clovis, NM –September 5, 2025 – On Friday, August 15^th, at about 11:46 p.m., Clovis Police Department Dispatch received a call about the caller hearing eleven to sixteen gunshots.  The caller stated a gray in color car drove north on Norris Street from  Mabry Drive.  Officers arrived on scene where they located thirty bullet casings of two separate calibers, in the roadway.  At about 11:52 p.m., Clovis Police Department Dispatch was called by Plains Regional Medical Center in reference to victims who appeared to have sustained gunshot related injuries.  Detectives of the Clovis Police Department Special Operations Unit were activated to investigate this incident.  A 15-year-old male was injured in the shooting, and the 16-year-old driver was not injured.

During the investigation, a weapon was recovered on East Grand Avenue.  Detectives located surveillance video from the area of the shooting and where the weapon was located.  Based on this, the 16-year-old driver, whose 15-year-old passenger was injured, was arrested for the delinquent acts of Child Abuse/Endangerment, Shooting at or From a Motor Vehicle, Tampering with Evidence, Contributing to the Delinquency of a Minor and Unlawful Possession of a handgun by a person.  The juvenile was taken into custody without incident and was transported to a New Mexico Juvenile Detention Center.

On September 5^th, 2025, Detectives developed information relating to the other vehicle involved in the incident. Santos Silguero (18 years of age) was identified as the suspect in this shooting and has been arrested on the charges of Child Abuse with Great Bodily Harm (1^st degree felony), Shooting at or From a Motor Vehicle (2^nd degree felony), Child Abuse (3^rd degree felony), Aggravated Battery with a Firearm (3^rd degree felony), Felon in Possession of a Firearm (3rd degree felony), and Negligent Use of a Deadly Weapon (petty misdemeanor).  He is currently in custody at the Curry County Adult Detention Center.
