Know Before you Go: ExxonMobil Albuquerque International Balloon Fiesta®

As the 54th ExxonMobil Albuquerque International Balloon Fiesta® prepares to welcome guests October 3–11, 2026, the safety and security of guests, volunteers and pilots remain a top priority.

Balloon Fiesta is committed to providing a safe, welcoming environment where guests can experience the magic of ballooning events throughout the nine-day celebration. To ensure a safe experience, Balloon Fiesta has implemented comprehensive safety measures in collaboration with leading security agencies.

Guests are encouraged to plan ahead, arrive early and review permitted and prohibited items before traveling to Balloon Fiesta Park. Cooperation with screening procedures helps public safety personnel move guests through entry gates as efficiently as possible.

Guests may bring bags, backpacks, lawn chairs, food and nonalcoholic beverages for personal consumption. All bags, coolers and carried items are subject to inspection. Clear bags and guests with no bags will gain access to the Express Lane, where the entry process will be expedited. 

For the safety of all guests, the following items are prohibited at Balloon Fiesta Park:

• Firearms, whether operational or non-operational, including firearms carried by off-duty law-enforcement personnel
• Knives or tools with blades 3 inches or longer
• Tasers
• Alcohol
• Narcotics and drug paraphernalia
• Drones
• Glass or ceramic items
• Fireworks, noisemakers, air horns and explosive devices
• Religious or political paraphernalia
• Skateboards, roller skates, hoverboards, scooters and similar devices
• Pets and other animals; trained service animals are permitted
• Laser pointers
• Aerosol cans
• Dry ice

Smoking is prohibited inside Balloon Fiesta Park. Because balloon operations involve propane fuel and sensitive balloon fabric, guests should respect all safety boundaries and avoid stepping on or over balloon equipment and fabric.

Guests are encouraged to dress in layers for cool mornings and warmer afternoons, wear comfortable walking shoes, and bring sun protection and appropriate eye protection.
