Local Artists Unveil New Collections on Digital Marketplace for Santa Fe-based Artists

Santa Fe, NM – Santa Fe NFT has launched two new art collections, featuring hand-drawn pieces from celebrated artists Stacey Sullivan de Maldonado and Joel Nakamura, of Los Muertos Fine Art Works. This event marks a significant milestone in the intersection of traditional and digital art, showcasing Santa Fe’s rich artistic heritage through cutting-edge NFT technology. 

This marks the first art drop in Santa Fe NFT’s art marketplace, santafenft.io, an online platform that unites artists and global collectors. With the mission of elevating local artists and supporting their experience in the digital art world, the organization provides a platform that is a hub for Santa Fe creators to sell their art as digital assets, or non-fungible tokens (NFTs). This is the first-ever NFT platform centered around art from the contemporary Santa Fe art scene.

Featured artist Stacey Sullivan de Maldonado has over 20 years in the Santa Fe art scene. Her prolific art career includes works that have been purchased by celebrities, high-ranking officials, and global art collectors. Her work has been shown in prestigious spaces like The White House, The Supreme Court Building in Santa Fe, The Albuquerque Museum of Art, El Museo de Cultural de Santa Fe, and more. Her “In Love – To the Bone” collection features hand-drawn and hand-painted Los Muertos-style skeleton art, in the form of digital assets – 999 limited edition NFTs. 

“My goal is to bring my Los Muertos Fine Art Works to a modernized, globalized, democratized art market, and to be one of the first from the Santa Fe art space to do so, making my art and its voice accessible and available to more people than I previously ever dreamed possible,” said artist Maldonado. 

Also featured in this art drop is award winning artist Joel Nakamura, unveiling his “Insatiable Dreams” collection. Nakamura, a native Santa Fean, is known for his unique style: a blend of folk art and sophisticated iconography rendered in a neo-primitive technique. This NFT collection encapsulates his life journey through various artistic media.
