ALBUQUERQUE – The City of Albuquerque has released a new Bikeways and Multi-Use Trail Map. The new map features the City’s network of more than 400 miles of on-street and multi-use trails.
“Every year we add more trails and paths, and this map features all the newest lanes, paths, crossings, and even Rail Trail segments,” said Director of the Department of Municipal Development Jennifer Turner. “Whether you’re commuting, going for a weekend ride, or just out exploring, the new map shows the best routes for all of us on two wheels.”
The new map features new bicycle safety instructions, highlights places of interest, and shows the city’s:
- Paved trails
- Multi-use trails
- Unpaved multi-use trails
- Buffered bike lanes
- Bicycle boulevards
- Arroyos
- Trailheads
- ART bus connections (where you can load your bike on the bus)
- The 50-Mile Loop
The new maps are available by calling 311, at the Esperanza Bicycle Safety Education Center, City senior and multigenerational centers, libraries, and City Hall.
“Albuquerque’s bike network just keeps rolling forward and this map shows how far we’ve come,” said Mayor Keller. “With more than 400 miles of connected routes, it’s easier than ever to explore the city in a whole new way.”
The new map also features water-resistant paper, so not even the rain can stop you from getting out on two wheels to explore the city. More information is available at: https://www.cabq.gov/parksandrecreation/recreation/bike/bike-map
