New Mexico Department of Veterans’ Services to host quarterly call to hear from veterans

SANTA FE — Veterans, their families, and community members are invited to share concerns, ask questions, and get updates on services and benefits during the New Mexico Department of Veterans’ Services’ upcoming quarterly community call.

The event takes place Friday, June 27, from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. at American Legion Post 13, 1201 Legion Rd. NE, Albuquerque. Part of a statewide outreach effort, the meeting will cover veterans’ healthcare, mental health resources, tax exemptions, rural transportation, park passes, and legislative updates affecting veterans.

NMDVS benefits personnel will assist eligible veterans and unmarried widows/widowers applying for property tax waivers, exceptions, and lifetime park passes. Certified veteran service officers will be on-site to assist with VA benefits claims, healthcare eligibility, disability compensation, and other state benefits.
