TSA prepared to handle expected influx of passengers during the annual Albuquerque International Balloon Fiesta

ALBUQUERQUE – The Transportation Security Administration (TSA) and the Albuquerque International Sunport will hold a media availability at ABQ on Friday, October 2, from 10:00am to 11:00am discussing travel tips, passenger projections, and preparations for the Albuquerque International Balloon Fiesta kicking off on Saturday, October 3.

TSA and airport officials will discuss ABQ’s security technologies and provide travel tips for passengers using ABQ during the Balloon Fiesta. Topics will include checkpoint procedures, REAL ID requirements, TSA PreCheck®, carry-on liquid restrictions, passenger projections, recommended arrival times, and assistance available through AskTSA and TSA Cares.

ABQ Federal Security Director Richard Rzucidlo and ABQ officials will be available for one-on one interviews. Media are welcome and encouraged to get updated photos and B-roll of security screening operations for current and future ABQ TSA coverage.
