ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. – The Accountability in Government Oversight Committee (AGOC) has received the final Quality Assurance Review (QAR) from REDW, LLC, the independent firm contracted to assess the quality of reports from the Office of the Inspector General (OIG). The QAR focused on reviewing nine OIG reports for adherence to professional standards and the adequacy of their conclusions and findings.
As stated in the AGOC’s September 17th press release, the AGOC has the responsibility to ensure every report from the OIG meets the highest standards of accuracy, independence, and integrity before being released to the public, in line with its duties under the City’s Accountability in Government Oversight Ordinance.
The completion of this QAR marks a critical step in the AGOC’s ongoing oversight efforts. As previously noted, the Committee is sharing the final QAR with the public along with the Committee’s response. The Committee will begin reviewing the OIG reports at a special meeting on October 15th, 2025. While six (6) pending OIG reports will ultimately be reviewed, not all will be heard at the October 15th meeting due to the depth and complexity of the materials. Therefore, additional meetings will be held as soon as possible.
Chair of the AGOC, Victor Griego, stated, “This process is vital to maintaining public trust and ensuring that all government oversight is conducted with the utmost integrity. The AGOC is dedicated to providing Albuquerque’s citizens with transparent and reliable reporting, and the QAR is a key part of that commitment.”
Both the Quality Assurance Review and the AGOC’s response to the QAR are attached to this press release.
